December 2007
We completed the redevelopment of Armadale Shopping City in December 2007. The centre doubled in capacity to a total tenancy area of 31,200m² with additional associated car parking.
The redevelopment comprised the demolition to part of the existing centre to make way for a new major and minor retailers, restaurants, a new food court and alfresco area, malls and speciality shops.
The works were programmed to be completed in three stages over a 24-month period and included:
• Stage 1: external works, car parks, construction of entries 3 and 4, Best & Less (1,350m²) and speciality
shops;
• Stage 2: construction of a new Target store (5,400m²), speciality shops and malls (5,300m²)
• Stage 3: a new three-level food court and alfresco dining area. The new under croft and roof-deck car parking for 1,140 cars was completed over the first two stages.
Our innovation to the programme resulted in the project being completed two months ahead of schedule which meant the centre could trade in the lead up to Christmas.
