The project scope of work comprised the design and construction of new accommodation (387 beds), vocation facilities, an ‘at risk’ education facility, heavy industries extension, external store, car park and recreational facilities.
The State Government’s key project objective was to provide additional metropolitan beds for the current prison population to reduce overcrowding in the system across the state.
